On September 3rd, the students at Nanhsing Elementary School had a surprise visit from a special guest, Teacher Xiao-Cha! He works for the Taiwan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). He taught the students all the good ways to take care of your pets. He also wanted to make sure each student knew the importance of being kind and loving to ALL animals. Students listened carefully as he explained that before adopting a pet, they must prepare everything the animal will need to live a good long life. Food and water, a safe home or environment and clean health. Teacher Xiao-Cha made sure each student understood that animals are just as important as people. They have the right to live without pain, fear or hunger, just like we do. Finally Teacher Xiao-Cha reminded everyone that taking care of a pet is not easy! It's a lot of hard work and responsibility, and now there are laws to protect animals from bad owners! The students at Nanhsing Elementary School thanked their special guest Teacher Xiao-Cha for his important lesson. They are grateful, knowing how to better protect and care for all their animal friends. May they all follow his good example.
